Breaking generational silence, one family, one issue, at a time
Family Wisdom Africa was born from a simple but powerful realization: silence isn't protection. Founded by Benjamin Kalu, a Nigerian educator and parent advocate, our mission emerged from personal experience with the devastating consequences of silence around sex education in African families.
Like most Nigerian children, Benjamin grew up in a home where sex was never discussed. He learned from confused friends sharing myths, accidental exposure to adult content, and dangerous trial and error. He watched classmates drop out due to pregnancy, saw friends contract preventable diseases, and witnessed the shame and confusion that silence creates.
We create comprehensive family education resources that honor your faith, respect your culture, and give you the confidence to protect your children, your marriage, and your wellbeing, in today's complex world. Our materials are:
We honor your religious beliefs while providing factual education
Built for African families, by African educators
Based on child development science and best practices
Giving parents confidence to have difficult conversations
We envision a generation of African children who grow up informed, protected, and confident - not confused and vulnerable. We see families where open, age-appropriate communication is normal, not taboo. We dream of parents who are their children's first teachers, not their last resort.
Together, we're breaking the silence that has harmed generations. One family, one conversation, one child at a time.
